Good cartoon Justin. Always great to be able to see the cartoon develop from sketch to finished drawing. One thing I notice is that the WSJ character looks more depressed (slumpier?) in the sketch than the finished cartoon -- though I like the party scene better in the preliminary pencil.
That's always been something I've struggled with in my cartoons: I often like the looseness of my initial sketches over my finished drawings. It's actually got me looking at changing the way I draw and looking at cartoonists like Pat Bagley or Stayskal (retired now I believe?) Even Oliphant appears to be drawing more freehand than planned in his cartoons.
But I go on too long. Again, good cartoon! - August 8, 2007 at 3:40 PM
